Selina began her creative journey at the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts, where she gained hands-on experience in technical theatre and developed a passion for the collaborative production environment. During her time there, she was a running crew member for productions such as Billy Elliot and Cabaret. After the shutdown of COVID-19, she took on the role of Assistant Stage Manager for two runs of In the Heights and Stage Manager for A Midsummer Night’s Dream in her senior year. That same year, she was rewarded with the VAPA Award for Creative Leadership and received acknowledgments for Backstage Professionalism and Professionalism in Management at SDSCPA. A day after high school graduation, Selina began her journey with The Old Globe Theatre as an Arts Engagement Intern.

At San Diego State University, Selina’s senior thesis short film earned the Wally! Award, recognizing students’ achievement in film production within SDSU’s School of Theatre, Television, and Film. As a junior, Selina edited the short documentary Yeux, which premiered at SDSU’s Emerging Filmmakers Showcase. The Documentary then went on to screen at PBS SoCal’s Fine Cut Film Festival in Los Angeles. Yeux is now available to stream on PBS in Fine Cut’s 5th episode of its 26th season

Through her journey in the arts, Selina has found a deep passion for capturing family, love, and underrepresented communities. She is currently an On-Air Production Assistant at KPBS Public Media, where she continues their mission to build a strong and vibrant community.
